Sightseeing in Gulmarg

Maharani Temple:- Maharanui Temple is a unique temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This was a Royal Temple for the Dogra Kings of Jammu & Kashmir. This temple can be seen from all parts of the town. The temple was built by Mohini Bai Sisodia the wife of Maharaja Hari Singh of Kashmir in 1915. The temple is renovated in 1998 by Dagger Division and presently managed by Jammu & Kashmir Dharmarth Trust. The temple remains open from 6 am to 9 pm and Aarti is performed twice a day for devotees.

St. Marys Church:- Built in 1902 St. Marys Church is a Catholic Church located in the valley of shepherds in Gulmarg. The monument depicting the English influence in Gulmarg and is known for its multi colored lighting. After the imposition of militancy the church stopped functioning but now it is recently renovated and visitors can enjoy the lighting in the church.

Ningli Nalleh:- It is a beautiful stream located at a distance of 8 Km from Gulmarg . It is formed due to melting of ice from the Alpather Lake. The stream slowly falls into the valley below and joins the River Jhelum near Sopur. It is a famous picnic jaunt and become a favorite campsite during the summers where one can enjoy leisure time in the scenic beauty of the place.
